Andrew has over 30 years of experience in the design, construction and planning of airport infrastructure both as a client and a consultant, undertaking projects in the U.K., Europe, India, Latin America and Africa.
He has led a wide range of airport planning projects at regional and major international airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Mumbai and Hong Kong, covering all aspects of airport design from the aeronautical planning of multiple runway systems, through airport and airfield master planning to the design of terminal buildings, airfields and ancillary facilities. He has also acted as an advisor on a wide range of airport concessions from both the buy and sale side.
Since its inception aviation has always been a high-profile industry seldom out of the spotlight. In recent years we have experienced a boom in growth attracting ever greater demands to reduce our carbon foot print, a challenge that will continue. However, the immediate and very obvious task is to keep the industry afloat and form a collective response to the challenges of COVID-19. This will require airports, airlines and regulators to work together around the globe. Aviation has played an essential role as an economic catalyst and in providing social cohesion within and between countries – we need it to do so again.

During his 17-year career with BAA (the former U.K. British Airports Authority), Andrew served in a range of planning and engineering roles, including aerodrome safeguarding, airfield maintenance and terminal engineering. He was involved in the design and planning of facilities at airports across the BAA group, including Heathrow Terminal 5.
Andrew says he got into aviation purely by chance but fell in love with the excitement and complexity of the industry and has never done anything else. His fascination with airports lies in their role as the gateway to travel.
